This photograph was taken in Bristol, England early one fall morning.
The vase had an extremely thick glass base and the light coming through
the window was focused by the base in a way that "eliminated" the normal
shadows. This caused the illusion that the vase was floating above the window
sill. Moving the vase even a few inches destroyed the illusion --
hence the less-than-ideal picture composition.
